Research In Regional Carrying Capacity Of Mentougou District In Beijing

Mentougou District locates in the region that takes up superior Feng Shui of Beijing.It is a natural ecological screen that protects the west of Beijing and cause decisive,irreplaceable implication on the environment and development of Beijing.There is a great significance for sustainable development of Beijing through researching natural resource and socio-economic caring capacity of Mentougou District.In this thesis,the author selects 53 representative index to build an evaluation mode and evaluation index system which measuring the regional caring capacity(RCC) of Mentougou District.The evaluation process lists as follow:1.Analyze date with similar and non-dimensional indexs to build up index level.2.Confirming Determination of the Weight Values of Indexes in the method of Principal Components Analysis 3.Finally,Calculating Regional Caring Capacity Index in synthetical index method and drawing a conclusion on the regional caring capacity of Mentougou District.It is concluded that the regional caring capacity(RCC) index number of Mentougou District in 2000 is 0.727 that is under loaded,it is in a strong sustainable stage and upward annually.It has a great growth rate of RCC between 2002 and 2005.In 2006,the index number of RCC is 0.934 nearly reaching the ideal index number which is 1.The index number 0.934 in 2006 is ideal and shows that Mengtougou District is in a sustainable status.RCC index of Mentougou District is combined and decided by four rule layer indexes which are natural resource index,economy development index,social progress index,and ecological environment index.Between 2000 and 2006,natural resource index and ecological environment index combined together to push the regional caring capacity index upward.Natural resource index in a high and steady level and fluctuate in a little range.Ecological environment index is also in a high level and upward slowly,in 2005,it fluctuated irregularly.Economy development is in the lowest number among the four rule layer index of the regional caring capacity,but it has the biggest growth rate.Social progress index has a fast growth constantly,but it is in a low level and constrain the development of regional caring capacity index.It concludes some basic advantages of Mentougou District from the analysis of its regional caring capacity.It has a great number of minerals resource and forest resource.Higher wood-cover rate is a natural screen and has a significant impact on Beijing's ecological environment protection.The unique mineral resource is the material accumulation for the sustainable development of Mentougou District. Forestation and ecology protection is remarkable,and,the ministration of mine area has an active effect. Modern municipal industry grows rapidly.The ecology environment is a strong foundation for the further improvement.The Mentougou District has a fast and constant economy growth rate in these years and shake off the economic backward situation gradually.It also has advantages of region and transportation in Beijing.The problems and constraint factors in Mentougou District are as follows:land for future development is limited,water shortage worsens increasingly,and the restoration of ecological environment in mine area is still critical,social-economic development is in imbalance.It is suggested that eco-construction would be improved in ecological industry,protection and development of natural resource,the construction of ecological environment and natural landscape in city and town,ecological culture and sustainable development.
