First of all, this dissertation provides an overview of some of the main character of the birefringent crystal, this dissertation provides an overview of the characters of the main various double refraction.And compared their characteristics. The YVO4 is desirable crystal that the existing crystal of birefringence which it is use to optical components of raw materials. The YVO4 is all the same a sort of the important optics material in the existing double refraction.Due to the complexity of the crystal growth's process, we researched the mechanism of crystal growth and analysised the every approaches of preparation process, and the principle of crystal defect detection. We haved prepared the high-quality YVO4 crystal that there is no obvious dispersion under the illuminating beam of 532nm green laser, by reasonable ingredients, controlling PH value of solution, setting the temperature field, regulating temperature, the pulling speed and so on.We adopted reasonable ingredients, controled PH value of the solution, the temperature field was setted to regulate the temperature, speed, and other operations to prepare high-quality YVO4 crystal.We haved prepared the high-quality YVO4 crystal that there is no obvious dispersion under the illuminating beam of 532nm green laser, by reasonable ingredients, controlling PH value of solution, setting the temperature field, regulating temperature, the pulling speed and so on. We used the chemical corrosion and the heat corrosion on the YVO4 crytal,as well as calculated the dislocation density on the location of emergence of the crystal plane. Ulteriorly we establish the relation between the shape of emergence of dislocation and the crystal structure. There are the main defects of inclusion texture, dislocation, dislocation cluster, grain boundary, sub-boundary, stressed zone and so on in the internal crystal, using the white light pattern technique of synchrotron radiation.
