The generation processess of domestic sewage of five families (18 people) and drainage in one building were monitored in Guangzhou city. Characteristics and disciplines of nitrogen, phosphor in domestic sewages were systematically studied. Main factors which influence on the production of domestic pollutants were analyzed, such as sex and weight of the citizens, living habit and season. The study will act as a reference for the national census of residential pollution. To insure the reliability if census result, one set of feasible, scientific and systematic monitoring method was explored for the deep investigation of pollution by city life.The main contents and results of this study are as follows:1. The whole process of sewage generation of 18 people from five families were monitored respectively according to different seasons. Quantitative analysis data of resident pollution including food and cosmetic pollution load was obtained. The result showed that the average volume of domestic sewage was 112.43 L/d·person, TN was 9.53g/ d·person, TP was 1.13g/ d·person, water consumption of each resident was 123.1 L/d·person.2. The drainage system of residential buildings were observed, the quantity and development of the domestic pollutants which has been released into the living areas were studied.3. In order to quantitively assess the souces of domestic pollutants, the contant of TN and TP in foods and detergents were investigated.4. In order to realize the variation and individual differences domestic pollution, inductive analysis and statistical analysis were taken. In the analysis, the living habits, sex and weight of residents, as well as seasons were chosen as main factors. The analysis provided the basis for the prediction method and model of domestic pollution of Guangzhou citizens.5. The structure of the pollutants' sources was analyzed and the basic knowledge for grasping the ins and outs of pollutants and the key pollution process were provided. By comparing the results with similar studies carried out in abroad, the characteristics of domestic pollution in Guangzhou were presented.
