Iron tailing is a kind of waste outcome after selecting.It brings out many problems such as enviroment pollution,resource waste,and a lot of land occupation.Therefore,the comprehensive utilization of tailings resources is an important way to achieve sustainable development of mineral resources.In thisthesis,the iron tailings sintered foam material is were prepared by pore-forming agent method and room temperature polymerization forming method,using Qi Da Shan iron tailings as starting materials The effect of raw material composition,sintering condition and foaming process on the manufactucing process and properties of sintered foam materials were investigated.In summy,this thesis is composed of four parts as follows:(1) The iron tailings sintered body was prepared by low temperature sintering.The effect of the choice of the raw material and sintering condition on the properties of sintered samples were studied by XRD,SEM,compressive strength,water absorption test analysis. The results show that the major mineral phase composition of iron tailing sintered body is brownmillerite,quartz,dicalcium ferrite,hematite,wollastonite and glass phase.The glass phase emergence is playing a decisive role in sintered body performance.The related factors were optimized:the proper rate of raw material is 85%iron tailings,10%glass powder and 5%borax in weight and the sintering temperature is 1000℃with 2 hours.(2) Using the iron tailings as raw materials,the iron tailings sintered glass surface material has been prepared by using alkali efflorescence principle,which has a load-bearing and decorative feature.The optimized condition of alkali efflorescence initiator is 4%sodium carbonate at 1000℃.(3) The sintered foam material was prepared by pore-forming agent method and polystyrene foam was chosen as pore-forming agent.The results show that the excellent properties sintered foam material was prepared by adding 0.5%polystyrene foam in volume, which meet the sintered brick M10 requirements of national standard GB13544-2000.(4) The sintered foam material was prepared by room temperature polymerization foaming method using iron tailings as the main raw material.The fly ash was added as activiator and bubble stabilizer.The related factors were optimized:the weight ratio of iron tailings,fly ash,activator,fortifier,flux were 50:50:2:10:5 respectively;water cement ratio was 35%,the amount of foam was 7%-17.5%,sintering temperature was 1000℃,holding time was 2 hour.
