Organometallic chemistry interrelated with materials science, organic synthesis, life science. zinc and copper organometallic complexes containing Zn-N,Cu-N bond are of important significance in macromolecular and asymmetry organic synthesis. The dissertation deals with the synthesis and characterization of the new ligands and their relevant zinc and copper organometallic complexes, the crystal structures of the ligands are obtained. Their structures had been determined by Elemental analyses, IR, 1H-NMR and 13C-NMR spectroscopy and X-ray crystallography. The recent advancement of the Henry reaction is reviewed. Four organometallic complexes have been synthesized , and used to catalyze Henry reOAction. The 94% conversion was obtained when the substrate was benzaldehyde under the optimum catalytic conditions such as : (1) Empolyed 30mol% catalyst which ethylenediamine complexed with Cu(OAc)2.H2O (2) Methanol as the solvent (3)Added 0.01mL triethylamine.
