With the market's increasing demand for veneer, which makes the production of veneer, whether in technical progress,or in quality requires a higher level of development. Therefore the non-destructive testing of veneer strength is an extremely important way to improve the utilization of timber, and the modulus of elasticity is one of the important parameters to evaluate the strength of veneer. This paper focused on domestic production and development, comparing the level of development at home and abroad, using the experimental research and theoretical analysis methods, combined with computer technology,non-destructive testing technology and electronic technology and other methods, to develop the Computer Online Non-destructive Testing System of Veneer Modulus of Elasticity. In hardware design, using the stress wave detection method to detect the propagation velocity of stress wave in the veneer;using theβ-ray method to detect the density of veneer;finally according to the relationship:E_v=pc~2,to calculate the Modulus of Elasticity of the veneer. In software design,in the PC system, using VC++ programming language, combined with the database,ADO and serial communications technologies,to receive, process and storage the collection data;In stress wave velocity detection system of AT89C52,selecting C programming language and ladder diagram programming language inβ-ray density detection system of KV1000 PLC,to realize collecting data and communication between machines. The research of this project can promote the implementation of the timber, reduce the harvesting of forest resources and protect the environment;at the same time will also help the veneer enterprises to standardize product standards, set up the quality assurance system and improve economic benefits.
