In order to solve the problem of heavy metal ions in wastewater, Chitosan was modified by vanillin, and obtained CTSV, which was then crosslinked by glutaraldehyde, and got the final product CTSV-G. CTSV-G was characterized by IR and SEM. The optimum pH is 6.0. The adsorption capacity of Ni2+,Cr(â…¥),Cd2+and Pb2+ is 83.04mg/g, 42.74mg/g, 63.69 mg/g, and 161.3 mg/g in optimum condition, respectively. Thermodynamics and kinetics analysis of the adsorption process were carried out. The result showed the isothermal absorption process of CTSV-G on Ni2+, Cr(â…¥) and Pb2+ can be clearly described by Langmuir equation, and Cd2+ was Freundlich equation. In the absorption process, Pb2+ was the first-order reaction, while Ni2+,Cr(â…¥) and Cd2+ was the second-order reaction. The result of reused CTSV-G after three times showed the absorption capacity Cr(â…¥), Cd2+and Pb2+all can reach more the 60% of primary, and Ni2+ was above 80%.The compound sorbent (CTS-C) of activated carbon with chitosan crosslinked by formaldehyde under microwave irradiation were prepared. CTS-C was characterized by IR. In absorption process the optimum pH of Ni2+,Cr(â…¥),Cd2+ and Pb2+ is 6.4, 6, 5.8 and 6, respectively. And the maximum removal ratio is 98.6%, 99.7%, 98.3%and 99.1%. The isothermal absorption process of CTS-C on Ni2+, Cr(â…¥), Cd2+ and Pb2+ can be clearly described by Langmuir equation, and Cr(â…¥) and Pb2+ can be also by Freundlich equation. In the absorption process, Cr(â…¥) was both the first-order and second-order reaction, while Ni2+ and Pb2+ was the second-order reaction.
