Apparel makes the man and packaging makes the product. Nowadays, with the high development of market economy and the tendency of costume consumption to human orientation, people do not content themselves with warm-dressing and well-dressing any more but pursue dressing with fashion, style and taste. The traditional costume design and output technology is not capable to meet the demand of multi-layered patterns. It is necessary to develop new costume designs and output technologies. Therefore, it has become a prominent task for the textile industry to study the application of the specialty printing technology to the costume design and output. At present, new specialty printing technologies are applied more and more widely in textile dyeing and printing, which provides a new idea for the costume design and output.The thesis analyzes the principle and characteristics of the application of specialty printing to the costume design and output. According to the characteristics of specialty printing, new costume patterns are designed. What's more, based on silk-screen printing, hot stamping, digital inkjet printing and etc., experiments for the output costume pattern are made. And based on different specialty printings, the output effects and characteristics are compared. The experiment result shows that different specialty printing technology has different requirements for the costume design and output and the textile. It is necessary to consider the influence of specific output mode and textile varieties on the costume design and output. The findings of the thesis have a certain theoretical guidance and practical significance for the textile design and development and the application of the specialty printing technology to industry.
