The Research Of Compression Performance And Paper Optimum Design Of Kraft Biscuit Shipping Box

As a kind of green packaging container, corrugated carton has the characteristics of light weight, high strength, low cost, easy recovery and so on. It will has practical value to make a study the optimization of its design process. In circulation corrugated carton is greatly influenced by environmental factors, such as ambient humidity, temperature and so on. Taking biscuits corrugated cartons as the target of study, in view of the actual problems during application process, researches have been carried out on the following aspects.First, Influence of relative humidity on corrugated box performance was studied from compression test and ring crush resistance test, to establish compressive strength formula based on the relative humidity. Tests were carried out in different conditions on four kinds of cookies boxes and the raw stock. The results showed that with relative humidity increasing, cartons compressive strength reduced quickly up to half of the original even. Modified Kellicutt formula was established based on the relative humidity after analysis of test results, which could accurately reflect the effect of relative humidity .This would provided reference for carton design.Second, carton optimization model was studied though matlab-based simulation analysis. Corrugated Board was multi-layer composite material with medium and liner board, each of which had many specs. In order to obtain the best performance as well as the best economic benefit, it was necessary to make reasonable choice of the medium and liner board. Cost performance was used as evaluation criteria for corrugated box optimization by simulation analysis. And on the basis of cost performance, carton optimization model was established which was a good foundation for corrugated box optimization system design.Third, corrugated box optimization system was designed. The traditional design of paper cartons was on the basic of designer's experiences accumulated for a long time. Due to the limitation of the experience and the diversity of paperboard, traditional design of paper might be not the best, only make option in several kinds of common specs. Optimization design system of this paper analyze each combination of paper , and chose the best one according to the design requirements for product. System also had forecast analysis module of compression strength, which could show us the variation of the compression strength in different relative humidity, and be useful for application.
