In recent years, China's road construction has been rapid development,But it has also brought an increasingly serious environmental problems. Highway construction in the course of life not only caused a great deal of resource consumption and ecological damage, also had a serious environmental pollution.Consumption of resources, ecological damage and environmental pollutant emissions at every stage of highway projects may happen, so the pollution prevention and control of resources should also be run through its various stages of the life cycle. By introducing and applying the assessment on the road, environmental impact analysis based on Life Cycle Assessment benefits for promoting the sustainable development of road construction.First of all, this thesis introduces the Life Cycle Assessment and its development, as well as the basic framework of the life cycle theory. It then analyzes the environmental impacts of road construction projects. Finally, it is the application of life cycle theory in environmental impact analysis of the highway construction project. The methodology this thesis takes is both qualities and quantities. Based on the framework of Life Cycle Assessment, the life cycle stage of the road is researched systemically. Then a Framework model of Life Cycle Assessment on the road is put forward. Finally a case study, Chongqing Expressway from Sangria to Joshed, is employed. By adopting Improved Analytic Hierarchy process to calculate the weights in the Impact Assessment, the thesis analyses and indentifies the stages which have the larger impact on environmental and its environmental impact. Through application of life cycle theory in environmental impact analysis of the road construction project,we can draw the relevant conclusions and find ways and means to improve, which has the important significance in reducing resources consumption and environment pollutions.
