Application Of Multiple Functional Ionic Liquids In Catalytic Esterification And Knoevenagel Reaction

Applications of the ionic liquids on organic synthesis were summarized and HSO₃-functionalized Brφnsted acidic ionic liquids were prepared which were used as catalysts for the catalytic esterification for the synthesis of plasticizers Tri-Butyl Citrate(TBC),Diethyl Maleate(DEM) and aethylparabenum.The results indicated that the ionic liquid.[TEA-PS][HSO₄]displayed better catalytic activity than non-functionalized ionic liquids or the neutral ionic liquids in the reactions.The temperature,reaction time,proportion of reactants,amount of catalyst and some other reaction conditions were also optimized over this catalyst.The results showed that the HSO₃-functionalized Brφnsted acidic ionic liquids exhibited some advantages compared with the traditional catalysts;such as high yield,short reaction time,mild reaction conditions,simple separation and so forth.Also they could be reused many times without noticeably decreasing in the catalytic activity.Basic ionic liquids linked by polyepichlorohydrin—[PECHmim]OH was researched,and it was immobilized on Al₂O₃ to obtain immobilized ionic liquids.The catalytic property for the Knoevenagel condensation reaction was studied.The results showed that the catalyst displayed better catalytic activity in a mild reaction condition.Under proper reaction condition,the yield was above 92%mostly,what was more,the catalyzer could be reused for 4 times without noticeably decreasing in the catalytic activity after simply separated from the products.Therefore,a good new kind of catalyst for Knoevenagel condensation reaction was provided.
