After SOx, NOx became another kind of exhaust from coal-fired power plants that should be strictly controlled. Since 1980, a lot of work has been done on NOx reduction in Japan, America and other developed countries, which lead to remarkable achievements on NOx control. Among all the technologies that used for NOx reduction, SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) was most widely used and had the best catalytic performance. While there were no proprietary intellectual property rights, SCR technology developed slowly in China. With NOx control becoming stricter, SCR technology will represent bright prospect together with SCR catalyst, which is the core technology of SCR. So investigation on SCR catalyst is of great scientific research and commercial value. In this paper, influences on catalytic and molding performances of V2O5/TiO2 honeycomb catalyst were investigated. Additives must be introduced for molding of the catalyst, while they also bring in negative impacts on catalytic performance. Firstly, through the introduction of additives and changing their contents, influences of additives on catalytic performance of the powder V2O5/TiO2 catalyst were investigated, by which kinds of additives with light negative impacts on catalytic performance were earned. Then the influences of these additives on molding performance were investigated with the original designed molding machine. As well as the first two steps, the impacts of calcination temperature were also involved. All this work leads to one kind of honeycomb catalyst which has good catalytic and molding performances.Influences including initial NO concentrate, inlet NO/NH3 ratio, space velocity and reaction temperature on catalytic performance of the honeycomb catalyst were investigated by imitated DeNOx experiments. The results show that there were no remarkable differences between the home-made catalyst and the import one.Characterizations of the catalyst were investigated by MPI (mercury intrusion porosimetry) and SEM. The impacts on catalyst performances were investigated from the point of catalyst structure. Influencing factors including molding process, producing techniques, testing process and calcination temperature on catalyst structure wereinvestigated.
