Diverse degrees of deacetylation of Chitosan were obtained by treatment with alkali, and different mass fraction of Chitosan spinning solution were prepared by dissolving Chitosan powder in acetic acid. Experiments were carried out to study the impact of the volume fraction of acetic acid, temperature and the mass fraction of chitosan on the stability of chitosan spinning dope. At last, we studied on wet-spinning process of Chitosan and obtained high-strength chitosan nascent fibers.The results showed that high degree of deacetylation of Chitosan can be prepared by treatment with alkali, diverse degrees of deacetylation of Chitosan were obtained by controned the times ,time, and temperature of alkali reaction, and times of washing. Chitosan with high degrees of deacetylation can be solvent in acetic acid earily, and as-spun fiber of Chitosan with relative high degree of crystallinity can be obtained. The obtained nascent fibers exhibited favor mechanical properties when the mass fraction of chitosan and the volume fraction of acetic acid were respectively 3~4% and 2%,and the temperature changed between 30℃and 50℃. In the process of spinning, the coagulation bath consisted of 5% NaOH and 95% water,and the efficiency of fibers formation and uniformity were improved by adding ethanol and Na2SO4 in it. By prolonging the coagulation time and increasing wind-up speed, highly oriented and high-strength chitosan nascent fibers are obtained.
