The UV curing process is regarded as a"Green Technology"and has been revealed great vitality in our life with environmental friendliness, energy-saving, and economy. As an important component of UV-curing system, the photoinitiators have significant effect on curing rate and film function of UV-curing.In this study, a novel photoinitiator benxoyl phenyl dipheny-liodonium hexafluorophosphate was designed and synthesized. The maximum absorption for the structure characteristics of both radiacl and cationic photoinitiators are more than ordinary diaryliodonium. This absorption is matched with the light source. The synthesis of benxoyl phenyl dipheny-liodonium hexafluorophosphate was researched. The optimal conditions were confirmed, when the mole ratio of iodobenzenediacetate and 4-benzoylbiphenyl was 1:1, dosage was 0.006mol,0.140 mol acetic anhydride, 0.018mol hydrogen peroxide at 50°C for 10h, the yield was 65 % .Otherwise the effect of concentration of photoinitiator benxoyl phenyl dipheny-liodonium hexafluorophosphate on curing velocity of UV curing system was also researched. The experimental result indicated that the curing rate and film function was optimal when photoinitiator reached 3% through the method of gel conversion rate. The novel photoinitiator benxoyl phenyl dipheny-liodonium hexafluorophosphate was compared with two hybrid photoinitiators,The former is more than the latter in photoinitiativity. As for the cost-saving, the latter can be replaced by the former in commercial production.
