With the continuous development of steel and iron industry, the demand of sintered products as the main raw material to the blast furnace is also growing, and thus the sintering machine as a major supplier of sintered products obviously becomes very important. This article describes the problems of the traditional sintering machine during the operation, and the solutions were given out. Research results, laid the foundation for the development of the even-teeth sintering machine and have important theoretical and practical significance.Firstly, thermal-structure coupling analysis on sidewall of a pallet car was done by ANSYS software, and the main designed parameters of the sprocket wheel were revised. Based on the design method of even-number teeth sprocket wheel, the equations of the actual sectional tooth profile curve were established and both of them are expressed in a unified way.Secondly, based on mechanics analysis on the transmission process of sintering machine, the threshold equation of thrust force emerged from back sprocket wheel against lower pallet cars when preventing lower pallet cars from arching was got. And multi-body dynamics simulation analysis on sintering machine was made by virtual prototyping technology. The thrust curve of lower pallet cars was got in both cases of fixed rail movable rack and unfixed one, which pointed out the main reason of lower pallet cars'arching was that they suffered too much thrust, and the measures of loading rail resistance moment was given out to eliminate the arching of lower pallet cars. Based on the simulation analysis of sintering machine on which the tail resistance was loaded, the reasonable loading value was given out, and the thrust curve of lower pallet cars and the running poses of pallet cars were received.Lastly, design to the shaft of the spindle of the back sprocket wheel was given out,as well as the calculation method of the interference value of the connecting shaft. Based on the contact analysis on the connecting shaft by ANSYS software, the stress distribution between the connecting shaft and the spindle of the back sprocket wheel, the radial stress distribution and the contact pressure distribution of the connecting shaft were received. And the torsion experimental result of adopting the method of using scaled-down parts showed that the designed amount of interference met the requirements. The back spindles of different diameters were analyzed, and thus the database of recommended values of the external diameter of the connecting shaft and the length of contact area was built, and provided a convenient for the future engineering design.
