The thermal radiation damage is an important part in the comprehensive damage evaluation of explosives. With the optimization of explosives'performance and variation of damage elements, the thermal damage of explosives fireball becomes a research emphasis in the world.Based on the analysis and comparison of the thermal damage model, Baker model was chosen as the calculation basis of the fireball thermal radiation damage, which was mended then. The thermal dosage Q criterion was selected as the criteria of thermal damage according to the further analysis of the characters of FAE explosion.Acquisition methods of the characteristic parameters of fireball from experimental and theoretical analysis were discussed in this paper. Infrared thermal imaging technology was used to get these two parameters in experiments, while a series of parameters including combustion heat, explosion heat and temperature were calculated in the theoretical part, which was on the basis of chemical composition expression of explosives. Theoretical calculation formula of fireball temperature and diameter was firstly put forward based on the results of these parameters above. Finally, a kind of FAE was taken as an example for the theoretical and experimental analysis of thermal damage. The results showed that it was unilateral to use the thermal radiation energy alone as the evaluation criterion of biological damage effects, various forms of energy should be taken into account in the experimental work later...
