As to reduce the sewage treatment investment and operating costs, improve operating stability, introduce bio-carrier in the cyclic activated sludge (CAST) system, all that constitutes cyclic activated sludge and bio-film technology (CAS- BT),carried on a more systematic laboratory dynamic testing and production of applied research, and get the expected results.In this paper, character of CAS-BT equipment such as structure, hydraulic characteristics, biochemical kinetics conditions, automatic control systems and devices, the key matching device - Decanter and diffused aeration systems, pretreatment facilities and so on were studied on optimum design.Through the CAS-BT equipment and supporting facilities optimization and technology integration research, to further develop technical and economic advantages of the process and introduce the design technology of main equipment units and process systems, the applications conditions, management techniques in run and debug and other results. Their study provides users with a complete process systems and technology on both hardware and software, lays the foundation of CAS-BT possessing for its further application.CAS-BT possessing don't has separate secondary sedimentation tank systems, and it can be used on treatment of beer brewing wastewater, bio-pharmaceutical wastewater, sewage of slaughtering meat processing and those character similar with industrial organic wastewater. This possess has many advantages such as simple, covering Small, low infrastructure and operational cost, reliable, flexible and easy to start, high treatment effect, strong resistance to shock loading and high ability of nitrogen and phosphorus removal. The well promotion and application of the technology urgent need to set up the CAS-BT design methods.The research on biochemical dynamic conditions, hydraulic characteristics, operating parameters and other characters of CAS-BT mainly to solve optimal design problems of the selector, composite reaction zone, decanter and the automatic control system. On the current awareness and research of CAS-BT processing, with the biochemical parameters and hydraulic parameters of the analysis and the experience of practical design: the static design process on the CAS-BT complex biological reaction zone and selector was established. The research studies on the innovation of traditional siphon decanter and systematically discusses the composition of its installations, working principle, design method and design parameters. And it contains a brief introduction of the CAS-BT process control system components and its characters. The engineering practice shows that it is very appropriate to use programmable logic controller (PLC) as the CAS-BT's control of the main process control system.The domestic sewage and industrial wastewater (CODcr≤450 mg/L), and high concentration of industrial wastewater (CODcr≤3000 mg/L) technology processes are present after the research on CAS-BT technology relationship between the processing units and the operating mode and operating characteristics. A brief description of application conditions of the regulate pools and CAS-BT technology are also present. With the CAS-BT technology systems and equipment engineering experiences, the study systematically discusses the composition and management, steps and programs of cultivation during running and debugging of the activated sludge process such as sludge choice, cultivation. The main structure (screen work, the homogeneous regulation pool and CAS-BT tank) and equipment (grill, sewage pumps, sludge pumps, aeration systems, decanter equipment and PLC program control system) maintenance and management of procedures and requirements are also discussed.
