Schiff base ligand and its metal complexes not only have a wide range of uses in analytical chemistry, catalysis, but also has a very important area of research value in medicine, biochemistry and photochromic. In this paper, we have reported synthesis and characterization of pyrazoles Schiff-bases ligand and their metal complexes. This paper is composed of six chapters:In the first chapter, we summarize progress in condensation mechanism of Schiff-bases ligand, research of Schiff-bases ligand and their metal complexes, investigated the structure of DNA, interaction mechanism between these ligands and their rare earth complexes with DNA.From second chapter to fifth chapter, 1-phenyl-3-methyl-5-hydroxypyrazole-4-carbaldhyde-(benzoyl)hydrazone ligand (H2L1), 1-phenyl-3-methyl-5-hydroxy pyrazole-4-carbaldhyde-(2'-hydroxybenzoyl)hydrazone ligand (H3L2),1-phenyl-3-methyl-5-hydroxypyrazole-4-carbaldhyde-(isonicotinoyl)hydrazone ligand (H2L3), 1-phenyl-3-methyl-5-hydroxypyrazole-4-carbaldhyde-(4'-hydroxybenzoyl) hydrazone ligand (H3L4) and its rare earth complexes have been synthesized and characterized on the basis of elemental analyses, the titration of metal content, molar conductivities, IR spectra,1H NMR spectra and so on. In addition, we also studied interaction mechanism between these ligands and their rare earth complexes with DNA.In the sixth chapter, we mainly investigate the sensitivity and selectivity of 1-phenyl-3-methyl-5-hydroxypyrazole-4-carbaldhyde-(benzoyl)hydrazone Schiff-base for different ions. The results showed that it have high sensitivity and selectivity for Cu2+. Moreover, We also obtained single crystal of [Cu-HL1-DMF-C104] to clarify the coordination geometry of ligand H2L1 and Cu2+.
