Hydrogen is a high density, clean, renewable energy of second, development of hydrogen energy can become relieving energy supply pressures, ensuring energy security, to promote environmental protection of energy strategy. At present, hydrogen large commercial application priority is how to produce cheep hydrogen efficiently. On account of the diversity and overall development without uniformity in hydrogen production technology, the urgent need for systematic evaluation and hydrogen-related research.Based on in-depth analysis of the characteristics of the hydrogen production and applying the theory of life cycle assessment, these papers build a hydrogen production system suitable for mo-del evaluation system. To build the general evaluation model and basic database of life cycle ana-lysis. The system boundary, energy consumption, the index of environmental impact, cost of hydr-ogen production and the important key factors in system environmental characteristic have been discussed.These papers emphasizes on four hydrogen production technology with different features from coal gasification, natural gas steam reforming, electrolysis and biomass gasification in supercritical water. Coal gasification has rich resources and low prices of raw material; Natural gas's process is short and simple operation; electrolysis method has the merit of clean production and hydrogen's high purity. Yet with the life cycle assessment model of hydrogen production technology, the result can be obtained by systematically evaluating in energy consumption, environment impact, economy and society. Eventually the supercritical water biomass gasification of comprehensive benefits should be best, as the development of optimal hydrogen technology. Establish a relatively complete of evaluation system from hydrogen production for the technology by improvement, optimization and development. That is important reference value in the whole life cycle assessment system.
