In view of dehydration of oil-water emulsions in the crude oil production, this thesis gives an systematic analysis on the conventional methods based on an extensive literature study. Through the comparative analysis on the various methods of heavy oil dehydration technology, an new dehydration method of using ultrasound is proposed on heavy oil.The article introduces the development process and current application situation of ultrasound. Through the indoor experiment, this paper gives the adaptability of ultrasonic heavy oil demulsification. The results show that it is feasible for demulsification dehydration in a suitable ultrasonic parameters. The effect of ultrasonic frequency, sound intensity, power, processing time, settling time on heavy oil dewatering rules is given by the further experiment. In the experimental conditions, the best ultrasonic frequency range is 20 ~ 25kHz , the best non-dimensional sound intensity range is 0.2 ~ 0.4, the best power is 100 ~ 200 W , the best processing time is 2 ~ 4min , the best settling time is 6h .The rules of temperature and percentage of water content on ultrasonic heavy oil demulsification dehydration is given by the further experiment under the best ultrasonic parameters. The higher the temperature, the higher is the dehydration rate; water content of 65% to 75% range, the dehydration rate is the lowest. In other areas, the dehydration rate is increased with the decrease of moisture content.Research results provide a reliable basis for further application.
