The self-assembly coordination polymers pay much attention because of recently focused on the networking ability of the diverse Stacking patterns and topology structures, which are potentially able to work as in catalysis, nonlinear optics, ion exchange, gas storage, magnetism and molecular recognition. We summarize the research of pyridinecarboxylate and porphyrin coordination polymers and present the synthesis, characterization of the coordination polymers, the main results as follows:First, we synthesize eight coordination complexs constructed by pyridinecarboxylate ligand , bridging ligand and transition metal ions: [Cd(2,4-pydc) (2,2'-bpy)(H2O)]·3(H2O) (1), [Cd2 (2,4-pydc)(phen)4](NO3)2·4(H2O) (2), [Mn2(2,4-pydc)2 (bpe)(H2O)6]·(H2O) (3), [Mn2(2,4-pydc)2(2,2'-bpy)2(H2O)2]·4(H2O) (4), [Zn(2,4-pydc)(phen)2 ]·7.5(H2O) (5), [Co(2,4-pydc)(2,2'-bpy)2]·5.5(H2O) (6),{[Cu(2,4-pydc)(bpp)(H2O)]·3.5(H2O)}n (7),{[Zn(2,3-pydc) (bpp)]·4(H2O)}n (8) (2,4-pydcH = 2,4-pyridinecarboxylate, 2,3-pydcH = 2,3-pyridinecarboxylate, 2,2'-bpy = 2,2'-bipyridyl ,phen = 1,10-phenanthroline, bpe = 1,2-bis(4-pyridyl)ethane, bpp = 1,3-bis (4-pyridyl)propane) They have been characterized by elemental analysis, IR, thermal analysis, X-ray diffraction analysis and the fluoresent properties of complex 1, 2 ,5, 8 are measured in the solid state at room temperature. Complex 1-4 are the dinuclear complexs. Complex 1 is connected by the packingπ–πintentions between 2,2'-bpy to shows one-dimensional chain and is connected by hydrogen bondings and the packingπ–πintentions to form three-dimensional wing network. Complex 2 is connected by the packingπ–πintentions between phen to shows one-dimensional chain and is connected by hydrogen bondings and the packingπ–πintentions to form three-dimensional microporous network. Complex 3 is further connected by hydrogen bondings and the packingπ–πintentions to form three-dimensional microporous network. Complex 4 is connected by the packingπ–πintentions between 2,2'-bpy to shows one-dimensional chain and is connected by hydrogen bondings and the packingπ–πintentions to form three-dimensional microporous network. Complex 5 is further connected by hydrogen bondings to form three-dimensional flower network and three-dimensional spider network by the different planes. Complex 6 is further connected by hydrogen bondings to form three-dimensional sandwich network. Complex 7 exhibits two contrary ZigZag chains, which is connected by hydrogen bondings extends the structure into three-dimensional microporous network. Complex 8 exhibits three-dimensional crossing microporous network. The fluorescence intensity of complex 1, 2, 5, 8 show excellent fluorescent properties.Second, we synthesize four coordination polymers constructed by porphyrin ligand and transition metal ions: Co(C44H22N8) (9), Co(C44H24Cl4N4) (10), Zn(C44H24Cl4N4) (C4H9NO)(C3H7NO) (11), Co(C44H28N4)(12) (C44H24N8 = = tetra(4-pyridyl)porphyryn , C44H26Cl4N4 = tetra(4-chlorophenyl)porphyrin, C44H30N4 = tetra(4-phenyl)porphyrin) They have been char -acterized by elemental analysis, IR, thermal analysis, X-ray diffraction analysis. The fluoresent properties and catalytic properties of complex 9 are measured in the solid state at room temperature.Complex 10 is a mononuclear complex, which exbits saddle structure by tetra(4-chlorophenyl)porphyrin and Co ion. Complex 11 is a mononuclear complex, which generates in situ aclyation reaction. Complex 12 is a mononuclear complex, which extends dimmer structure by adjacent tetra(4-phenyl)porphyrin. Complex 9 exhibits the ZigZag chain, which exists square microporous structure, wing microporous structure and polygen microporous structure by three axises. The fluorescent property and catalyse experiment of complex 9 are measured at room temperature. Complex 9 shows excellent fluorescent property. We study the catalytic activity of complex for the selective epoxidation of styrene, which show some catalysed property. The catalyst could be effectively recycled for some times without a significant decreasing of the yield.
