This thesis consists of the following two parts:The first part is reviews. Diphenyl ethers is a very important structural fragments in the number of molecules and has important value in use for the preparation of pesticides fungicides, antibiotics and other pharmaceutical intermediates. Ullmann coupling reaction was one of the most important tools of modern organic synthesis that has been widely used in the synthesis of diaryl Ethers. This paper introduces the research progress and application of Cu-catalyzed O-arylation over the past decade. This chapter introduced the synthesis of diaryl ethers by the different aryl donors, such as arylhalides, aryl boronic acids, iodonium salts, stannanes, and trifluoroborate salts and so on. The choice of catalyst is essential for the reaction. Copper catalyst is very popular for the low-cost, low toxicity and good catalytic effection. At the beginning, iron catalysts that were applied to the synthesis of phenyl ethers have attracted attention, In addition, a suitable ligand can be largely improved catalytic activity. the article also describes the role of various ligands. The second part is our study on the improvement in the systhesis of diaryl Ethers. The Fe(acac)3 (acac=acetylacetonate)(0.3 equiv) and Cu2O(0.1 equiv) catalyzed coupling reactions of arylhalides with phenols were performed at 100℃in DMF with Cs2CO3 as a base. This method offers several advantages in terms of its simple operation, simple materials, mild reaction conditions and efficiency. All those mentioned compounds have been determined by 1HNMR, 13CNMR, FAB and IR.
