| Friction stir processing (FSP) is a new metal solid processing technology developed by Mishra the university of Missouri on the basis of the development of friction stir welding. In the process of friction stir processing, the Processing Zone experienced severe plastic deformation, stir zone microstructure is significantly densified. TA2 commercially pure titanium has high strength, good corrosion resistance and heat resistance, but due to the low plastic shear resistance and its performance, work hardening abrasion resistant is relatively poor, how to improve the hardness and abrasion resistance of TA2 commercially pure titanium, extend the service life, and expand their application scope, are the urgent problems need to solve.This paper selects TA2 Commercially pure titanium as test materials to study in detail, use FSP technology to process TA2 commercially pure titanium surface, particularly studied the technological parameters that applicabled to TA2 commercially pure titanium FSP. Adding SiC particle as the surface strengthening phase and the influence of different friction stir process technological parameters on the microstructure and properties are analyzed. Get the following results:Found out the influence of different friction stir process technological parameters for TA2 Commercially pure titanium's organization and performance. Successfully used friction stir processing technology to optimize TA2 Commercially pure titanium plate surface performance, by adding SiC strengthening phase, the average microhardness and wearability are relatively increased by 24.1 percent and 23.85 percent than base Material. TA2 Commercially pure titanium plates and friction stir processing surface modificated TA2 Commercially pure titanium plates have been compared, and the electrochemical corrosion test has been studied. The results show that the electrochemistry corrosion resistance of friction stir processing specimen has fallen slightly, but due to the great increase of microhardness and wearability performance, friction stir processing for TA2 Commercially pure titanium is expected to have great development prospects in certain areas which have no harsh electrochemistry corrosion resistance requirements.The research results can be applied to optimize processing parameters of friction stir processing for TA2 Commercially pure titanium, improve its surface abrasive resistance, expand its usage scope. |
