The polyacrylonitrile (PAN)-poly (methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) core-shell nanofiber has been successfully made though electrospinning sut-up with a rotating collector. Post-draw process was used to further improve the flexural properties. Then the reinforce effect have been investigated among the various composite samples, also, the hydrothermal aging properties was preliminarily examined. Second, the reinforce effect and in vitro cytotoxicity of nano-SiO2 reinforced composites were investigated. The result of post-draw process showed that this measurement could highly improve the tensile strength (673.4%) and tensile modulus (875.3%) of nanofiber membranes. The flexural strength(Fs), flexural modulus (Ey) and work of fracture (WOF) of Bis-GMA/TEGDMA composites reinforced with PAN-PMMA nanofibers were remarkably improved compared with the neat resin. The composites with 1.2%wt nanofiber increased by 51.6%,64.3% and 152.0% respectively comparing with neat resin. The influences of the different filler content on the mechanical characteristics were estimated by the flexural test and the in vitro cytotoxicity of the composite was evaluated by the MTT method. The result indicated that the composites containing 2wt% nano-silica modified with y-Aminopropyltriethoxysilane (KH-550) in ultrasonic dispersing method had the best flexural characteristic and were moderately cytotoxic in vitro cytotoxicity test. The flexural strength(Fs), flexural modulus (Ey) and work of fracture (WOF) of Bis-GMA/TEGDMA composites reinforced with 2%wt nano-SiO2 increased by 57.78%,77.59% and 78.64% respectively.
