Different topological structural polymers containing POSS (tadpole-shaped POSS/PMMA-b-PS,star-shaped POSS/PMMA-b-PS and Y-shaped POSS/PS) were synthesized by atom transfer radical polymerization, and the thermal properties of composites were studied.The main research contents were as follows:1.The synthesis of POSS/polymer composite and the recent research of POSS/polymer composite were reviewed, and the preperties of composites( thermal properties, mechanical properties, flame retardancy, oxidation resistance and dielectric properties) were summarized with POSS molecule introducing into polymers matix.Meanwhile, the mechanism of ATRP and its effect actors were disussed.2.Tadpole-shaped PMMA-b-PS based on polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS) was synthesized by ATRP using POSS/PMMA-Cl as a macroinitiatior in the presence of CuCl/2, 2, - bipyridine. The structure of the block copolymer had been characterized by FTIR, 1H NMR and GPC. Results revealed that POSS molecules were successfully monodispered in the hybrid composite and that the thermal stability of POSS/PMMA-b-PS nanocomposites was enhanced, which was due to the incorporation of POSS unit.3.Star-shaped PMMA-b-PS block copolymers with POSS core were prepared by ATRP of St using star-shaped POSS/PMMA-Cl as a macroinitiator in presence of CuCl/2, 2,-bipyridine/toluene. The structure of hybrid star-shaped PMMA-b-PS block copolymers was characterized by GPC and 1H NMR, respectively. TGA results demonstrated an enhancement of thermal stability of POSS/PMMA-b-PS nanocomposites.4.Y-shaped POSS/PS was synthesized through ATRP using difunctional POSS-Br as macroinitiator in presence of CuCl/2, 2,-bipyridine/toluene.The structure of POSS/PS was characterized by FTIR and GPC ,respectively.Results indicated that the Y-shaped POSS/PS was successfully synthesized.
