In the process of wood cutting, tool,s wear is a universal phenomenon. The wear amount and wear process of the tool directly affect the accuracy of the products, the processing efficiency and the economy performance. Research the factors which impact tool,s wear, and find out the wear law, will help us to improve machining efficiency, reduce processing costs. That is full of economic benefit. As an important parameter of the tool, the tool wedge angle play an important role in the process of the tool,s wear, and on the final wear amount of the wedge.During the process of this numerical control machining, the temperature of the tool was recorded by the infrared thermal imager. Contrasting the tools which have different angle amount, this experiment has researched the discrepancy of wear states, and the different change law of cutting temperature. It provides experimental data and theoretical basis for choosing reasonable cutting tool and controlling blade wear, as well as improving processing technology.The conclusion was summarized as follows:1,At the beginning of cutting, the wear amount is the largest; As the cutting carry on, the blade dull constantly, and the wear amount becomes smaller gradually; For tools with different wedge angle, while cutting the same length of WPC, if the wedge angle is greater, the tool,s wear is greater, too; The difference between them is stable.2,For the same milling cutter, in the process of cutting, the maximum cutting temperature increased sharply in the early stage, and then gradually slow down; Finally, the increase is teeny. As the cutting length and wear area expand, the maximum temperature increases gradually.3,For the different milling cutters,the greater the wedge angle, the lower the final stable maximum cutting temperature; While cutting WPC, in order to prevent the cutting temperature is too high, result in WPC softening, and seriously affecting the cutting quality, we should use cutting blade which has the larger wedge angle.
