The rapid development of science and technology promotes the rapid pace of office automation, so digital copiers have become one of the indispensable office equipments. Looking abroad the copying equipment market, it is almost entirely dominated by Japanese brands, and the level of the domestic copier equipment industry needs to be improved. We must continue to learn and study advanced foreign technology, and then increase independent research and development efforts to build its own core competitiveness with fully independent intellectual property.Through the analysis of exposure principle of digital copier and the research of mechanical structure and control principle of scanning and imaging unit of digital copier, this subject has developed an experimental device of data acquisition and transmission unit of original manuscript which can verify and improve the implementation result of digital copier scanning and imaging unit. Under the target and envision, the general design scheme of data acquisition and transmission system of digital copier original manuscript is divided into five units(systems), which contains imaging CCD data acquisition unit of digital copier, CCD driving generator and data cache unit based on FPGA, data storage and transmission control unit of original manuscript, high-speed data transmission unit of digital copier, and image restoration unit of original manuscript. Through the implement of CCD driving generator based on FPGA, it can make the CCD image sensor do the photoelectric conversion on the original manuscript. With the preprocessing of CCD output analog electrical signal, it will be transported into the high-speed AD chip, and then the digital signal can be stored into the FIFO module based on FPGA. Data storage and transmission control unit of original manuscript, in which ARM is the main control chip, reads the digital signal from the FIFO and stores it into the memory chip. Controlled by data storage and transmission control unit, the high-speed data transmission unit transfers data to the image restoration unit of original manuscript of the PC side via USB interface. Finally, it brings about the restoration of image data. Based on the hardware and software platform of the experimental device of data acquisition and transmission unit of original manuscript, it can make a research and testing on scanning and imaging unit of digital copier conveniently through the data acquisition, transmission and image restoration, and it lays a foundation for implementation of more accurate data acquisition of the original text and images. And also it is beneficial to the further research and subsequent development of each unit of digital copiers.
