Coke pushing car is one of the most important devices, not only to complete pushing and loading coke, but also to guide other cars to work together. The position of four cars in the coke pushing process and the implementation of the coke pushing plan are the most important factors of the production process control, because they are not only directly related to the stable of the coking gas system, but also important to the coking operation. Making sure of the position of the coking cars and the implementation of the coking plan is the coking process monitoring and management method which is widely used by the coking industry. The method using infrared and magnetic sensor technology to make sure the position of the coke pushing car has a large amount of oven number to present the carbonization chambers. Furthermore, the bad coking conditions and various factors disturb the recognition's result that will lead to serious accidents. So it must be done to develop a simple and reliable real-time automatic device to make sure the cars'position for the coking process monitoring and management.The MATLAB images processing technology into the coking process, the Intelligent Oven Numbers Identification System was designed for the working process of the coke pushing car. The hardware of this system was mainly composed by the Automatic Photograph Device and the Industrial Personal Computer (IPC). The Intelligent Oven Numbers Identification Software could identify the oven numbers in the photographs. The MATLAB images processing technology which included images transformation, division numbers and features extraction was used in the identification of oven numbers that was showed in the user interface.The user interface of this system was compiled by MATLAB and Visual Basic 6.0 mixed programming. The MATLAB Com Builder can compile the.M files to.DLL files which can be read by Visual Basic 6.0. Before used the DLL files in the Visual Basic 6.0 Software, the DLL files must be defined in it during the compiling process.The Intelligent Oven Numbers Identification System can be used in the Chain Management System of the coke pushing car, the dust removal car and the coke barrier car. When the coke pushing car opens the coking chamber doors, the intelligent system identifies the oven numbers, and compares them with the coke pushing plan. When the number is correct, the IPC send a massage to the dust removal car and the coke barrier car by the wireless technology. The dust removal car and the coke barrier car send right position massages to the IPC, then the system prompt the operator to push the coke. That is the working process of the Intelligent Oven Numbers Identification System and the Chain Management System of the three cars, and extremely helpful for the automatic control of the pushing cars.
