The anti-counterfeiting technique of optical variable inks is a kind of new printing ink security technologies and has the high applied value. This technique is a security technology with the optical theories. It is to achieve the purpose of a security anti-counterfeiting technology by observing the color under the different angles. Paper discusses a variety of security inks firstly, and then analysis the features and mechanisms of the security anti-counterfeiting technology on the basis of optical variable inks. So we can obtain the basic conditions and control methods of this security anti-counterfeiting technology. Secondly, we analysis and discuss the optically variable ink coloring rules by applying the optical film theory to obtain the reflectance model of the dielectric membrane and metal membrane. We use the model to analyze the color rules of optical variable ink and establish the security printing halftone reflectance model based on the metal film and the dielectric film. Finally, we get the spectral reflectance curves of half-tone prints and the curves of the color images by changing the parameters of the model.This model is of great theoretical significance in printing color control, optical thin film theory and the field of security.
