In recent decades, the oil industry plays an important role in the development of economic in the world. With the gradual development of industrialized economies, it has brought enormous benefits to mankind while also brought serious damage. Oil pollution has carcinogenic, teratogenic and mutagenic potential of gene mutation. In oil extraction, processing, transportation and using of the process, they possibly go into the surface soil through leakage or oily wastewater, and then directly or indirectly by rainfall go into the vadose zone until entering the groundwater bodies, which will lead to a series of environmental problems, ang have some adversely affect on the human life and on the sustainable development of society in the future. Therefore, the study of oil pollution on the groundwater environment is very important. The Shijiazhuang Refinery is located in Hebei Province, Gaocheng City. It is a first national class enterprise under China Petrochemical Corporation. To cope with the international financial crisis, to ensure stable development of the petrochemical industry, to speed up structural adjustment, to promote industrial upgrading, the State Council promulgated theas an integrated petrochemical industry response to the action in March 2009. To meet the low-grade crude oil quality upgrading and transformation of the demand, Shijiazhuang refinery will renovate and expand of its refinery capacity to reach the economies of scale of 8 million tons/year.This paper mainly studies the impacts on groundwater environment, which caused by oil spills in the process of expansion and reform of Shijiazhuang refinery. The major elements as follws:(1)By Arranging the experiments in the study area of field drilling and sampling of Luoyang shovel tests, and analyzing the soil samples, the results showed that:indicators of soil pollution in the area did not reach the pollution impact concentration of underground water. So the refineries which had run 27 years did not have impact on the soil and groundwater environment.(2)We have did some interior leaching tests and have studied the migration process of oil waste in the vadose zone. According to the lithology of vadose zone,we have established 5 test soil column. Results show that:with the increase of leaching time, the seepage rate of the soil column becomes more slowly, and becomes stable in the end. Calculations indicate that in case of leakage in Shijiazhuang Refinery, we have 10~20 days remediation time to prevent groundwater from the pollution of oil waste.(3)Based on the local hydrogeological conditions, establish a three-dimensional numerical groundwater flow and contaminant transport model to predict future changes in groundwater flow field, in this basis, have predicted effects on the groundwater in the different hydrodynamic conditions of various leakage situations. The results showes that: in the situation of preventing leakage, when the project is running, even if the case of leakage occurs, it will not have a lot of infiltration of pollutants into the ground and aquifers, and the concentrations of groundwater contaminants in drinking water will not exceed the health standards. Therefore,it is necessary to prevent leakage in the study area. Key Words:Shijiazhuang refinery Groundwater Oil pollution Numerical simulation Leaching experiments Solut...
