The spindle plays an important part of CNC, and the performance of spindle impacts on the quality of CNC machining. As an important indicator of system performance, the reliability directly impacts the accuracy and processing stability of spindle, and thus affects the machining quality and efficiency of CNC. In this paper, the reliability of spindle was tested, and a commonly test method and specification of spindle was confirmed. The effect of machining parameters and environmental factors on the reliability of spindle was obtained through the test.The existing reliability test method and specification of some areas, such as mechanical, automation, electronic and so on, was analyzed and discussed. On this basis, a set of commonly test method and specification was established in this paper.Operating characteristics of CNC spindle was discussed in this paper, furthermore, the methods to confirm and load the generalized stress were researched.Environmental stress screening method and constant stress accelerated life test method was selected as the reliability test method of spindle. The screening stress of the environmental stress screening test was temperature cycle and stress cycle, and the generalized stress of the constant stress accelerated life test was average-power.Through research on the reliability test method, the reliability of the test bench for testing the function of the conditions is determined, and the framework of the overall function of test bench is designed. In the design process of test bench, the generalized stress loading and control methods are determined, the judgment of fault indicator spindle machining center is also determined. After the determining of main content of reliability test, reliability tests are discussed in detail in the implementation of methods and implementation details. The reliability test specifications of spindle of machining center are determined and formulated, to provide a reference for the machining center spindle constant stress accelerated reliability test. Discussed in theory correspond to the experimental data analysis and processing method, and the Shenyang Machine Tool Plant reliability data were calculated, the distribution model of spindle of machining center's life is established, and the results show that the method is an effective spindle constant stress test data processing method.
