Various nanocomposite materials play a number of important roles in modern science and technology in recent years. Magnetic and fluorescent inorganic nanoparticles are of particular importance due to their broad range of potential applications. Fe3O4 served as a kind of easily obtained materials has received much attention because they do not retain any magnetism after they are removed from the magnetic field. Lanthanide complexes are a class of useful luminophores because of their unique properties. We adopted the core-shell architecture based the silica matrix, for its high hydrophile, optically transparent, easy preparation and surface modification. In this paper, three novel luminomagnetic nanocomposites using SiO2 as a tool, which combined of Fe3O4 and lanthanide complexes into a single micro-or nanocomposite system and their properties were also studied. This dissertation consists of four chapters:Chapter 1:This part generally described classification and main synthesis strategies of luminomagnetic nanocomposites and the development and appilication were also introduced.Chapter 2:Novel bifunctional terbium complex-based core-shell nanoparticles Fe3O4@SiO2@TESPPA-Tb@SiO2 have been developed using a modified Stober method combined with a layer-by-layer assembly process. The resultant bifunctional nanoparticles exhibited favorable superparamagnetic behavior and photoluminescence properties, which have potential application in biolabelling, bioseparation, immunoassay and pathogenic diagnosis.Chapter 3:Fe3O4@SiO2@Si-SA-Tb@SiO2 nanoparticles were prepared with the combination of Fe3O4 nanoparticles and Si-SA-Tb complex, and its magnetic and optical properties were studied and the formation mechanism of composite nanoparticles was also discussed. The nanocomposite with terbium complexes of salicylic acid can be the response of drug efficacy and diseased tissue image tracking and it has a very important scientific significance in drug applied research.Chapter 4:A feasible approach to preparation of luminescent-magnetic microspheres with lanthanide complex was reported. In the composite microsphere, Eu(TTA)3Phen and Fe3O4@SiO2 were introduced by deposition and embedding with SiO2. The results show that the microspheres have good response to magnetic field and could emit the characteristic fluorescence of europium ions. The contribution of this paper was three novel kinds of luminomagnetic nanomaterials has been developed integrating the magnetic core (Fe3O4) with lanthanide complexes, and the formation mechanism of composite nanoparticles was also discussed. The bifunctional nanomaterials possess both favorable superparamagnetic and unique lanthanide fluorescent properties and they have potential application in biomedical research.
