For the reason of long rainy season and high rainfall in South China, Municipal wastewater the pollutant concentration of municipal wastewater and C/N ratio is low. To study the nitrogen and phosphorus removal of the low concentration and low C / N ratio of sewage by A~2/O process , the long-term Monitoring and Analysis is practiced in Several wastewater treatment plants of A~2/O process and the improving way of nitrogen and phosphorus removal is also researched.A sewage treatment plant in Guangzhou with A~2/O process has been completed in three phases. Co-treatment of fecal sewage and leachate with municioal sewage is practiced in the sewage treatment plant. The results show that by adjusting the operating parameters and other optimization measures, the sytem can efficicently remove pollutants from both sewages. The average removal rate COD, NH4~+-N, T-N and T-P are 92.3%, 96.4%,61.64%,89.45% for mixture with fecal sewage and 86.4%,97.2%,52.12% and 73.94% for mixture with landfill leachate respectively.The real-time dynamic monitoring of Operating parameters and other related processing parameters of the urban sewage treatment system had been practiced in the PhaseⅠandⅡfor study of A~2/O process of the urban sewage treatment system for removing nitrogen and phosphorus during the practical operation of A~2/O process. The results show that the denitrification rates in the anaerobic tank, aerobic tank, and second settling tank were 0.87mg ( gMLSS·h),0.48 mg/ (gMLSS·h) and 0.07 mg/ ( gMLSS·h) respectively. The content of phosphorus release in the anaerobic tank was 2.54mg/L. The nitrification rate and phosphorus uptake in the aerobic tank was respectively 1.06 mg/ (gMLSS·h) and 5.63mg/gMLSS. Carbon shortage is the main factor which limits the denitrification rate in the aerobic tank. The endogenous denitrification rate and the content of phosphorus release in the second settling tank was low and the sludge settled properly during the monitoring period.. The running of two other sewage plants of A~2/O process in Foshan was also monitored and analyzed.The analysis and inspection of effect of nitrogen and phosphorus removal when facing low NH4~+-N /T-N of influent, short sludge age, destruction of the anaerobic environment and lack of aeration and other abnormalities, provides a reference for the normal operation and optimization of a municipal wastewater treatment pant.
