Magnesium alloys have high potential for use as components in automobile, electronic device and aerospace application because of their low density, high specific strengthen, good electromagnetic shielding and good damping properties. There is abundant resource of magnesium on the earth. In recent years, the request of energy saving and environmental protection has promoted the rapid growth of magnesium alloys. Nowdays, most of the magnesium alloy products are produced by die-casting but they have low mechanical properties. Wrought magnesium alloys possessing good mechanical properties such as high tensile strength and high elongation were greatly concerned home and abroad.Two typical kinds of AZ80 and ZK60 owing high strength magnesium alloys were taken as the research object in this paper. First,both the as-cast ZK60 magnesium alloy,s multiple-forging and AZ80 magnesium alloy,s forging-out processes were experimented at blocks. During experimental process ,we find that temperature,deformating rate and pressure measured were great influenced to forging outcome, formulating proper forging process parameters.Then, the microstructure of ZK60 after forging were researched by Metallographic microscope,and found that the grains size did not reduce but grain boundaries separation material decreased as the increase of the forging ratio. Metallographic microstructure and component change of the AZ80 after forging were studied; the main mechanical properties were tested at room and high temperature; fracture morphology was observed by SEM and the texture during forging process was researched by EBSD.The results show that grains were small and homogenized gradually,the tensile strengths were increased at room temperature, fracture toughness of litter increasing trend distribution and uniform,and the texture was formed different from squeezing and rolling the types of the texture.At last, the process was designed and the die was made according to the wedge shape characteristic,and the deformation of body wedged was tested based on the experiment of free forging.
