The effected coalmine safety monitoring is an important means to ensure the safety of the production under the coalmine. It is also one of the most important technical measures of the coal mine modern management. Therefore, The satety of the coal mine production is determined by the coalmine monitoring system.The coalmine monitoring system consists of upground central station and underground monitoring sub-station. The upground central station is used to communicate with the underground sub-station and work as a terminal display platform for the exchange of information directly with the managers.Underground monitoring sub-station located between the various types of underground sensors and equipments and the upground central station. It is the signal transmission hub between the underground monitoring module and the upground monitoring central station, responsible for acquisition and processing the underground environment information, and send the information to the upground central station through network bus. Effectiveness of the underground monitoring sub-station determines whether the coalmine safety monitoring system work successfully, it plays an important role in the coalmine monitoring and this paper designed the underground sub-station of the system.This thesis originates from the project "fiber optic sensing based on coalmine safety monitoring and disaster warning system". With the research on the national and industry standards, this paper designed the overall program of the underground monitoring sub-station, it must have the following functions:collecting the information of the underground environmental parameters sensors; when it exceeded the specified index, sending the alarm signal to the PC; receiving the information from the PC to configurate the state of the equipment; controlling the state of the underground equipment, storaging and displaying the collected data real-time.In the respect of the hardware design of the underground monitoring sub-station, designs the overall system hardware which meets to the functional requirement of the sub-station, and it also meets the relevant standards. The system based on the C8051F020 microcontroller, meet the time requirement of the date processing and information transmission, use the MCU's UART designs the RS-485 bus interface circuit, to make the sub-station to communicate with the PC; real-time display the enviornment parameters collected from the underground with LED.On the basis of the hardware circuit, designed the underground monitoring sub-station procedures, and use the Visual Basic 6.0 designed the PC interface and designed the communication program with the MSComm control, achieved the communication between the PC and sub-station with the Modbus protocol.The substation has realized the functions:data collecting, key-press processing, real-time display, bidirectional communicate with PC, and these were verified by experiments:...
