With the exploitation of oil, coal and natural gas, these major conventional fuel become less and less. So it is very important to explore and utilize substitute fuel to maintain the development of society and economy. Oil shale is a solid fuel containing organic matter and by the process of carbonization, it can produce shale oil which is very similar with oil. Due to the reason of enrichment of oil shale and by deep process of shale oil, we can produce respectively end-product oil, oil shale is an ideal substitute fuel for oil. And developing an effective process to utilize oil shale resource is important to solve energy question.By the method of carbonization, we can obtain pyrolysate gas which contain shale oil vapor and raw coke oven gas. In order to separate shale oil and raw coke oven gas, there is a conventional method. It use water to condense shale oil from pyrolysate gas. In this paper we try to exploit a new process to recover shale oil. It use wash oil to replace water to condense shale oil. By this process, we can recover some energy from system and separate shale oil into different fraction. The result shows that in oil-wash process, we can recover 693.23kW and 184.80kW energy from steam generator respectively.After being processed from condensation recovery system, we can obtain raw coke oven gas and shale oil. But the gas contains crude benzene and acid gas. In this paper we utilize wash-oil absorption method and MEA method to remove crude benzene and acid gas to produce coal gas. And use simulation software Aspen Plus to simulate these processes and research the effect of operating parameters and find out the most optimal operating parameters to purify the raw coke oven gas.After recovering crude benzene from raw coke oven gas, it is very economic to separate c6h6, c7h8 and c8h10 from crude benzene. There are conventional distillation sequence and thermally coupled distillation sequence to separate ternary mixture. We calculate the energy consumption and thermally efficiency in different distillation sequences. The result of energy consumption analysis indicates that compared with the direct sequence of conventional distillation, thermally coupled distillation sequence could save energy up to 35% and its thermodynamic efficiency is enhanced from 7.4% to 11.6%.
