The outbreak of large-scale algae is the product of marine environment degradation, It will threat the living environment greatly. During June 2008, the eve of Olympic Games, the area of sailing events in Qingdao suffered a massive invasion of Enteromorpha.To grasp the dynamic information of marine environment disaster is critical, which requires monitoring technology could find large-scale algae timely and effectively. Remote sensing is a monitoring measure of ocean environment,which has the advantage of fast and continuation.MODIS is the main detection instrument of EOS series satellites,which is the world's next generation "map one " optical remote sensing instrument for earth observation currently.It is very meaningful to monitor natural disasters and ecological environment.lt is also meaningful to global environment change research and climate change research.In this study, we use MODIS data to monitor the outbreak of large-scale algae. We set an example of Enteromorpha outbreak on the coast of Qingdao in 2008, in order to find method of get the information of large-scale algae.which method is provided technical support to emergency response and decision. This studies include:(1) Analysis of spectral characteristics of large-scale algaeSpectral characteristics of large-scale algae are basis to monitor the outbreak of large-scale algae. Measuring its spectral, in order to know the spectral characteristics of large algae.(2) Get the information of large-scale algaeUsing the MODIS data, combined with methods of monitoring red tide by remote sensing.We carry out the research of get the large-scale algae information with single-band, multi-band, NDVI. water color and image classification method, further get its acreage and dynamic information.(3) Analysis and compare the remote sensing information of large-scale algaeAccording to the result of large-scale algae information, large-scale algae remote sensing monitoring methods which are single-band, multi-band. NDVI,water color and image classification were compared.
