The dissertation includes two parts of works: Iron-catalyzed synthesis of arylsulfides or arylselenides and Zinc-catalyzed synthesis of naphthalene derivatives. The contents of this dissertation are summarized as follow:(1) Recent progress in the synthesis of arylsulfides or arylselenides was described.(2) Iron-catalyzed sulfenylation of indoles with disulfides promoted by a catalytic amount of iodine was introduced. The method was simple, mild and efficient.(3) Iron-catalyzed synthesis of arylsulfides or selenides was described by the reaction of anilines with disulfides. The efficient method is compatible with several functional groups.(4) Recent advance in transition-metal-catalyzed annulation of alkynes for the synthesis of naphthalene derivatives was summarized. Subsequently, we have developed zinc-catalyzed synthesis of naphthalene derivatives. This zinc-catalyzed [4+2] Diels-Alder reaction have some advantages including simple operation, mild conditions and high efficiency.
