With the economic development, the reasons for the fire become more and more. the proportion of the loss caused by fire accident is continuously increasing.It is important to conduct fire investigation research since fire cost more and more damage. At present, in the field of fire investigation, many researchers are concentrated on the accelerants itself,its impact on the combustion characteristics of fuel and the detection and classification of the accelerants.But the research about the impact of accelerants on pyrolysis and ignition characteristics before combustion and the detection and classification about the very similar accelerants is less. Pyrolysis and ignition is an important aspect of the combustion,the depth research of it is also the key factors that greatly influence the control of the happen and development of the unwanted fire; In addition, the effect of accelerants on post-buring of fuel and the detection and classification methods of the very similar accelerants combustion soot provide new ideas for the depth understanding of the effect of accelerants on the combustion process of fuel.This paper chooses gasoline as the representative accelerant ,and wood as the representative fuel,provide the theory basis and the identification methods for fire research by the effect study of gasoline on the pre and post-buring periods of wood.After a brief introduction about the commonly used extraction and classification methods of accelerants,a detailed discussion of the wider application methods are given.Thermogravimetric analysis is used to study the pyrolysis characteristics of wood and the wood dipped with gasline at different heating rates in a stream of air and N2.Deeply discuss the effect of atmosphere on the thermal gravimetry of wood and the effect of heating rates on the thermal gravimetry of wood dipped with gasoline.On this basis,Coats-Refern methods is applied to obtain the kinetic parameters of wood and the wood dipped with gasoline in the atmosphere of nitrogen.the activation energy E,frequency factor A and linear coefficient r are obtained.Experimental study about the effect of gasoline on wood ignition characteristics is carried out using an apparatus which is designed for the measurement of ignition characteristics.Under the different flux,some important parmenters,such as times to ignition,ignition temperatures,the surface temperature and the mass loss are obtained.At the same time,the effects of radiant heat fiux and the amount of gasoline added on the ignition behavior are analysed.The influence of gasoline on the analysis of the combustion soot of fuel are then analyzed.and a new detection method is applied to detect the 93# and 97# gasoline soot,a SIMCA pattern recognition method is applied to the classification of combustion soot, provide a new idea for the classification of accelerants.The work in this paper gives a set of the experiment data and the results of the effects of gasoline on wood pyrolysis and ignition and the detection and classification of two similar accelerants,which could benedit the further study on fire investigation field.
