Polidicyclopentadiene (PDCPD) composites renforced by carbon fiber and aramid pulp were prepared using reaction injection molding (RIM) technology. The surfaces of carbon fibers and aramid pulp were modified by oxidation, etching and oxidation-etching, and characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and IR. The composites which had different content fiber were prepared. The morphology of fracture surface of the composites was characterized by SEM, TG, and mechanical properties of tensile, impact and hardness were also tested. The results of IR showed that the active groups of the fiber increased after being treated, compared with the untreated fiber , it was beneficial for bonding fiber and matrix together strongly. The results of SEM showed that the surface of fiber treated became rougher than untreated fiber, it was helpful for fiber to be dispersed in DCPD. The test results of mechanical properties showed that the mechanical properties of the composites increased obviously with the increase of fiber content, and the mechanical properties of reinforced PDCPD by oxidation-etching carbon fiber composites are best among the others.Tternary composites, polidicyclopentadiene(PDCPD) composites renforced by and fiber toughen by elastomers were also prepared. The mechanical properties of ternary composites was better than the binary composites, especially the impact strength of CF/PEO/PDCPD was increased to 110J/m. The hardness of composites compared to hardness of PDCPD was not significantly improved.
