By theoretical analysis and experiment research, the thesis has analyzed the mechanism of abrasive jet cutting oil & gas pipeline as well as the influence law of jet pump, nozzle diameter, particle diameter, particle mass percent, jet distance, jet angle and nozzle moving velocity to the result of cutting and fit experiment data to get the mathematic formula of them. The result of experiment has showed that particle diameter, particle mass percent and jet angle has the optimal value and other parameters has the linear relation with cutting deep. About the problem of cutting parameter optimization, the thesis has given the method of combining artificial neural network and genetic arithmetic in which genetic arithmetic is used to optimize the structure of artificial neural network. The method is different from traditional optimization method and it is based on experiment data. In order to reach convenient operation, the thesis has worked out the software which can optimize cutting parameters and predict the result of cutting. The result of application has showed that the maximal error of predication is about 10% and the minimal error is only 0.5%. The research of this thesis has proved that using abrasive jet to open a window on oil &gas pipeline has satisfied effect and the optimization method given by the thesis has some guide meaning to the technology of cutting oil & gas pipeline using abrasive jet.
