Geologic map, running through the whole process of frontier region exploration, geologicresearch, dynamic analysis and production management, is the significant basic data for oilfieldexploration and development, and provides important bases for exploratory well sitedemonstration, well site deployment in mature area, reserve report, dynamic analysis ofproduction, compilation of comprehensive plan. Since the successful discovery of Hua-8 Wellin 1961, Dongxin Oilfield has experienced a E&P history of more than 40 years. The ratio ofproved to total oil&gas resources reaches 51%, and resource discovery rate is 62.4%. It has themost complex geologic structure in Shengli Oilfield, with the most kinds of reservoir, thehighest ratio of proved to total resources, the most difficult district for progressive explorationand development. It is well known as a"geological park"with various kinds of structure andoil-bearing systems. This special geologic condition of Dongxin Oilfield makes the geologicmap essential for geologic research in this district.The former maps used for geologic research were compiled and drawn manually withcomplex procedures and high error rate and low precision. It tends to be lost and damagedeasily, which causes many inconveniences for geologic research job. In recent years, variouskinds of computer drawing software have been introduced into geologic map drawing work.But as the complexity and particularity of Dongxin Oilfield, these software can not meet therequirements of geologic map drawing in Dongxin Oilfield. Therefore a set of geologic mapdrawing system suitable for the complex geologic conditions of Dongxin Oilfield is needed tosatisfy the high speed exploration and development with high efficiency.Therefore the major contents of the paper are as follows:(1) Research of major technical problems: recognize the fault automatically in accordancewith stratigraphic data and breakpoint data, improve hole deviation remediation method, andimprove the precision of hole deviation remediation, draw the hole deviation trajectory of theslanted well, finally form the base maps of the major geologic maps including fault planestructural diagram, geologic section or plane diagram, oil-bearing area diagram of the structure.(2) Update of drawing method: convert the geologic base map data processed by the system into data flow which can be accepted by other drawing software and carry outcomputed-aided drawing, and select simultaneously the optimum drawing plan and adequatealgorithm, draw precisely the three kinds of geologic base maps with full combination of manualmode and computer drawing tools.
