Studies On The Preparation Of Hydrocolloid Dressings

Shuanghuanglian is the Traditional Chinese materia medica preparation,made from honeysuckle, Baical Skullcap Root and forsythia suspensa. It has the special properties of relieving superficies, heat-clearing and detoxicating. Shuanghuanglian is frequently used in clinics as infectious diseases.Recently it is used to immune regulation. Clinical studies have demonstrated that Shuanghuanglian can be used in Clinical Dermatology. In order to be administrated conveniently, the Hydrocolloid Dressings of Shuanghuanglian was formulated and studied to make up for vacancy of this area in our country. According to the rule of drug register, formula screening, security and quality standard had been studied.Hydrocolloid wound dressing is an excellent new dressings. It is a water-soluble polymer material and rubber particles made from mixed materials injuries,which is composed by three components that are highly absorbent to water-soluble polymers, self-adhesive rubber and semi-permeability of the protective film. This material combines the water-soluble polymer to the absorbent material and rubber adhesive, can maintain a moist wound healing environment, to promote wound healing: First of all, its high water absorption can be used so that the exudation liquid is fully absorbed. Second, they provide a physical protective effect to prevent bacterial invasion. Third, they can be easily removed from the wound, and the process of removing virtually no pain. Formula and preparation ResearchThe main adjuvant is Water-soluble polymer material-CMC-Na/PVA, is prepared by freezing-thawing cycle. The effects of various factors on the normal sodium absorptivity of the hydrocolloid dressings are studied and optimized using orthogonal experimental method, such as the mass ratio of CMC-Na and PVA, the total concentration of rubber and paraffin oil , the volume of Blowing agent . The results show that the Water absorption of the hydrocolloid dressings is largest when the mass ratio of CMC-Na and PVA is 5:4, the total concentration of rubber and paraffin oil is 20%, the volume of Blowing agent is 6%. It suggested that the above prescriptions could be the penetration enhancer for Shuanghuanglian hydrocolloid wound dressing. Quality standard ResearchAccording to the requirements of preparation in ChP, we study from several sides such as appearance, identification and assaying.Approximately 69.92% of the applied Shuanghuanglian hydrocolloid wound dressing dose is released during a 12-hour period. AssayingA reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatographic method has been successfully used to separate and determine the component. baicalin was analyzed on an ODS column with methanol: water: HAc: H3PO4 =50:50:1:1 as the mobile phase. The detection was performed at 274nm and the injection volume was 20μL. For baicalin mentioned above the calibration curves were linear in a certain range of 5─100μg/mL (r=0.9997).
