The main shaft of wind power generator is a key part in wind turbine generator system, and has a larger market under the condition that the whole world is paying great attention to developing the wind energy. As the core component of large-size wind turbines, main shaft suffers larger torque and has high performance requirements. The dimensional of main shaft has larger requirement with the exploiting of wind energy, and its shape and production tools are very special, extremely on the forging process,craft demand higher, need overload forging hydraulic press, thus the forging technology of large-size main shaft has posed a new challenge. In view of the current complex process operation of main shaft and high tonnage requirements of equipment, exploiting a new forging craft on the existing hydraulic press for main shaft with excellent performance and safe and reliable working is imperative.This paper proposed a new kind of rotary forging process and designed a set of new organization based on the traditional forging process, carring on forging with this organization can effectively avoid the restrictions on equipment tonnage, and ensure the forming quality and effect.This paper took the finite element analysis software DEFORM-3D as the analysis platform, the new main shaft forging process based on the three-dimensional rigid-viscoplastic coupled thermo-mechanical FEM theory was simulated. Rule of metal flow, equivalent strain distribution in the blank and forging pressure needed were analyzed. In addition, the influence factors of forming effect was studied, and put forward the solutions. Finally, the analytical objects were taken as the indicator of the forging effect of the main shaft forging process to optimize the parameters of the new process and the optimal process parameters was ascertained.
