City natural water, as an indispensable part of body of urban functions, has important value of society, economy, culture and beauty. The protection of city natural water should be further enhanced. It is general that the level of ammonia nitrogen and pHospHor in our country's water exceed the standard limit. But it is difficult to dispose of water in city with relatively low level of ammonia nitrogen and pHospHor, with a large body of water. So it is needed to seek convenience, effective and economical method to solve this problem.Bentonite and vermiculite have the ability of removing ammonia nitrogen and pHospHor from water. In recent years, many researchers did abundance scientific researches on removal effect of the two clay minerals on ammonia nitrogen and pHospHor. But little research works referred to city natural water of inferior gradeâ…¤.In this report, the experimental wastewater was simulated according to micro-polluted water of Xi'an Moat River The modified bentonite which was treated with Na-modification or high temperature modification and the modified vermiculite which was treated with acid-modification or high temperature modification was used to deal with the simulation wastewater with ammonia nitrogen and pHospHor.This experiment studied the optimal condition of pH, dosage, reaction time and reaction temperature of a variety of adsorbents removing ammonia nitrogen and pHospHor from water. And then the suitable reaction condition was gained and their adsorptive mechanism was discussed. The experiment data has been compared and it turned out that baking bentonite has good adsorption effect on ammonia nitrogen and pHospHor in water and expanded vermiculite has good removal effort on pHospHor.After the action data been deeply analyzed and discovered that the mechanism of adsorption effect of bentonite or vermiculite on ammonia nitrogen was pHysical adsorption and the mechanism of adsorption effect of bentonite or vermiculite on pHospHor was chemical adsorption. It is slightly different of the parameters of two treatment processes of dispose of ammonia nitrogen and pHospHor. Meanwhile, some conclusions were drew: adsorption effect of bentonite, Na-bentonite or baking soil on ammonia nitrogen accorded with Freundlich isotherm equation; adsorption effect of vermiculite or acidification vermiculite on ammonia nitrogen accorded with Langmuir isotherm equation; adsorption effect of bentonite, baking soil or vermiculite on pHospHor accorded with Freundlich isotherm equation and Langmuir isotherm equation; adsorption effect of Na-bentonite on pHospHor accorded with Freundlich isotherm equation; adsorption effect of acidification vermiculite or expanded vermiculite on pHospHor accorded with Langmuir isotherm equation. The research indicated that bentonite and vermiculite, as two kinds of effective and low-cost adsorbents, would have broad application prospects on dispose of water of inferior gradeâ…¤in city.
