Nowadays, the gannent industry is faced with the background of economic globalization and the increasing of the consumer’s individual demand. The coming of industrial 4.0 era makes garment industry shifting towards intelligent manufacturing to improve the company’s production efficiency. And digital garment design is the premise to realize the intelligentization of garment manufacturing. At present, the garment CAD technology is experiencing the transition from 2D to 3D, and the 3D garment modeling technology is the important contents to study the 3D garment CAD. A lot of 3D garment modeling technology has been researched at home and abroad, but it is not very ideal, which is used in domestic garment design systerm and the fitting systenn application. By studying deeply to the 3D garment modeling technology, the article makes foundation for the development of 3D garment CAD.First of all, accessed the 3D data of the human body and garments by maturing, and pretreated them. Using 3D body scanner scaned veritable mannequins and garment styles, and got 3D point cloud data of the human body and garment styles. Then, the data was reprocessed, including repairing the 3D data points and adjusting the coordinate system.Secondly, the paper discussed the mathematic modeling method to establish the model of the 3D human body and the garment. The 3D data obtained by scanning was processed hierarchically, and determined the feature points and feature layers. The shirt, the dress and the pant were making geometric models, and made them parameterized.Finally, buit program to realize the model of the 3D human body and garment. The program was writed which was based on the measurement data, the established mathematical model of the 3D garment and using Visual C++6.0 and OpenGL graphics library. The 3D garment simulation was implemented through established interactive interface to read 3D data, calculate the average normal vector, build the topological relationship between each point, etc. The program runs faster and the simulation effect is distinct.
