MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) is a term that represents a collection of functions facing workshop layer which is located between ERP (Enterprise Resources Planning) and PCS (Processing Control System), focusing on executing production activities.MES delivers the information that enables the optimization of production activities from order launch to finished goods,and carries on the optimized management to the entire production process.So it is the bridge and ligament between the enterprise resource planning and process control system, and the key for enterprise improving production quality and production benefit.The stock management system is one of the basic functions of MES.The stock management system of the plate mill is to implement the correspondence of logistics and information flow so that it can provide production-distribution system with real-time, reliable and genuine data; and it also can instantly provide the whole-line specific production conditions for online production dispatching, and implement the dynamic adjustment of the production plan. The main contents of the dissertation are as follows:(1)It introduces the development process and the application prospect of MES, the stock management system carried on the functional module design and the scope according to the domestic Iron and steel company's investigation and study situation. In view of the plate steel company's present situation, the paper makes the formulation demand analysis, proposes the stock management design proposal, and gives the relations of the elaboration stock management and the productive plan.(2) It has completed the system design and the master functional design according to the requirement of the engineering application software. It establishes the stock management system the server/client side's architecture, determines the system using the Oracle database, describes the internal structure of the data sheet, and then it gives the stock detailed functional design. stock detailed functional design.(3) The paper makes the model melts for the simple optimization problems to solve under the goal limit consideration, uses the production actual data to carry on the confirmation, obtaines the optimal solution, and confirms the feasibility regarding the stock management optimization.(4) It has empoldered the software of stock management system with the language of VC++, and it is to implement the correspondence of data with other management system.The system has the characteristic of the reliability, the practicability and the friendly, increasing the producing efficiency, the standard production management, and it improves the production decision-making environment.The stock management system has the characteristic of the reliability, the practicability and the user friendly. The research work of the system makes us to collect some experience for the development of the independent intellectual property rights for the plate mill in MES,and has some reference to explore the approach of MES.
