Nowadays, distributed automation system is widely used in Iron & Steel Industry. Distributed automation system usually includes three levels:production management level, process control level and basic automation level. Because of its high controllability and fast progress of related software and hardware, process control level becomes one of the key components to promote the capacity and the quality of all kinds of millsTo promote its competitiveness, the directors of Baosteel put forward the idea "Non-stop revamp of 2030 cold rolling mill" and require that the persons of Equipment Department develop setting up and computing sub-system of mathematics model for control system. So I analyze the original program of Rolling Strategy in the old system, make a solution on implementing the functions of rolling strategy with Visual.net C++, ORACLE9i, CORBA middleware and HP Proliant ML570 Server.The task of this project is how to select the best solution of the reduction allocation for the due strip according to the technological condition and to provide all necessary data for Set points Calculation. Data preparation has seven ways due to seven calculation modes; Data preparation in each way includes coil primary data preparation, steel grade preparation, material data preparation, roll data preparation, friction data preparation, self-learn data preparation and rolling directive preparation. The most frequently called is data preparation for continuous rolling pre-computing mode which starts up when the strip head/tail reaches 32m before the first stand, and it only executes one time for every strip.
