Main transformer is most costly and easily goes wrong. The security and reliability of the power system is directly influenced by its reliability. The monitoring and diagnosis of transformer is necessarily reinforced. The paper presents the method and principle of on-line monitoring of dielectric loss based on the theory of phasic difference which current and voltage pass zero. As the same time, it analyzes data measured in the substation and the reason of error. Secondly, The paper studies the method and principle of on-line monitoring of partial discharge and presents the monitoring project base on the system which includes high frequency syntonic sensor, anti-jamming control and signal sampling. The method of disturb elimination is given. Thirdly, The paper researches the on-line monitoring of grounding current in core and presents the new method that adopts diverse long-string sensor. The paper analyses the meaning of the implement of transformer insulation faults diagnosis in the substation based on chromatogram of transformer oil, the direction of transformer insulation faults diagnosis technology and brings forward the on-line monitoring equipment which can detect six gases dissolved in transformer oil, and is charactered with infiltrative film. A great deal locale data proves the stabilization of this system. The paper studies the method and principle of multi-parameter on-line monitoring system and application of main transformer insulation for Basha 220kv transformer substation in Yibin. The system can reflect the actual state, and can become the warrant of condition service.
