The exhaust emission of a diesel engine differs in different operating condition. In order to study the fuel-economy and exhaust emission performance of vehicle turbocharge-intercooled diesel engine on all steady operating conditions, on YC4112ZLQ D.I. turbocharge-intercooled diesel engine, 72 operating conditions(8 speeds, 9 loads per speed) were tested under steady operating condition. The author analyzes the change rules of fuel consumption and the mass of the main exhaust emission pollutants(NOx, PM, CO, HC and carbon) with the operating parameters(speed and load), points out that NOx and PM are the primary exhaust emission pollutants which affect the turbocharge-intercooled diesel engine to reach the requires of emission regulations, and map the figure of compositive exhaust emission characteristic. These can provide consult for the performance's analysis of the type of diesel engine.Besides, the author synthetically analysizes it's fuel-economy and exhaust emission characteristic, including three areas(low, medium and high speed conditions), and makes a conclusion that the diesel engine has superiority to be matched with the camion and mobile machinery shop.
